Seh-lynn Chai Discusses 'Deux Coréennes' at Korean Cultural Center

On September 17, 2026, at 7 PM, the Centre Culturel Coréen in Paris will host a meeting with South Korean author Seh-lynn Chai, co-author of 'Deux Coréennes'. The book, written with North Korean refugee Jihyun Park, explores the invisible border separating two societies united by language and culture but divided by history, through an intimate dialogue. Chai's sober and direct writing highlights the human realities behind geopolitical issues. The book was selected for the Bibliothèque Orange in France in 2020 and the Sejong Books in Korea in 2022, and has been translated into seven languages, with coverage by international media including CNN, The Wall Street Journal, and France 24. Chai, daughter of a South Korean diplomat, grew up in several French-speaking countries including Cameroon and Tunisia. A former banker turned writer, she is currently a Research Fellow at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid, where she regularly speaks on geopolitical and literary issues related to the Korean peninsula. The event will be moderated by Laurent Laffont, editor at Libella group and advisor to the President and Vice-President.
