Scottish Museums Federation Launches Tiny Treasures Campaign for Museums Day

The Scottish Museums Federation has introduced the Tiny Treasures campaign for Scottish Museums Day on October 3, 2024. Developed by Incoming Communications Officer Sallie Bale and Social Media Officer Amy Wilson, the initiative highlights overlooked miniature artifacts in Scottish museums. The campaign was inspired by research from Dr Clare Llewellyn on digital cultural heritage, which found public interest in small exhibits. Participating institutions include Maryhill Burgh Halls, The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Museum, The Hunterian Museum, National Galleries of Scotland, Museum of Scottish Railways, Broxburn and Uphall Community Museum, Kirkcaldy Galleries, Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries, and St Andrews Museum. The public is encouraged to share discoveries using #TinyTreasures and #ScottishMuseumsDay.
