São Paulo Awards Cultural Value Seal to Six Historic Establishments

cultural-heritage · 2026-03-20

Six establishments in São Paulo have received the Cultural Value Seal from the city's municipal government. The recognition was granted by the Municipal Council for the Preservation of Historical, Cultural and Environmental Heritage of São Paulo (Conpresp) in 2026. The program, managed by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy and the Department of Historical Heritage, identifies locations that have become cultural landmarks through their history, cuisine, or daily significance to residents. Five of the six newly recognized venues are culinary establishments, highlighting the role of food in the city's culture. Recognized locations receive an informational plaque and are added to the city's digital map, GeoSampa. The initiative includes periodic reevaluations every five years and allows new applications through the city's portal.
