Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art Loans Works to Seattle Art Museum
The Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art has loaned two works to the Seattle Art Museum. One is a Chahar Mongolian headdress from the late 19th century, made of silver, coral, turquoise, and other semi-precious stones, originating from Inner Mongolia. It was a gift of Shelley and Donald Rubin (accession number C2012.7.23a-c). The other is a sculpture of an Unidentified Religious Master from Tibet, dating to the 16th-17th century, made of parcel-gilt silver and pigment using repoussé technique (accession number C2009.12). Both works are part of the Rubin Museum's collection.
