Rubin Museum Hosts Meditation Session with Teacher Kimberly Brown Alongside Himalayan Art Feature

The Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art is hosting a meditation session led by mindfulness instructor Kimberly Brown, focusing on the theme 'Loving Future.' Concurrently, the museum highlights a 19th-century Tibetan painting from its collection titled 'Tree (Field) of Refuge for Geluk Tibetan Buddhist Tradition.' This artwork, created with pigments on cloth and silk brocade in Central Tibet's U Region, visually assembles teachers, teachings, deities, and protectors of the Geluk tradition around founder Tsongkapa. It serves devotional purposes and represents Buddhism's Three Jewels. Brown, who studies Tibetan and Insight Buddhism, teaches compassion-based meditation and authored 'Happy Relationships.' The session supports the museum's initiatives to deepen understanding of Himalayan art and cultures.
