Resté in Langhe: What Does It Mean to Stay?

Resté, a cultural project in the Langhe region of Italy, transitions from a project to a program in 2026. Promoted by the Parish of San Lorenzo in Rodello in collaboration with the Fondazione Santi Lorenzo e Teobaldo and UnTerritorio ETS, it integrates contemporary art and landscape across Diano d'Alba, Montelupo Albese, Rodello, and Cerretto Langhe. Artist residencies remain central, with Sara Fratini (Puerto Ordaz, 1985) participating from June 23–29, 2026, focusing on motherhood and care, alongside Farm Cultural Park's Radical She project. The exhibition 'Dimensioni del Restare' will return, along with collaborations with the PoEM collective and Gabriele Vacis. Resté emphasizes art in internal areas as laboratories for cultural participation and territorial development, expanding networks with ORMA Tracce d'Artista in Langhe Monferrato Roero, Alba's candidacy for Capitale dell'Arte Contemporanea, Farm Cultural Park, and the Atlante della Restanza network. The concept of 'restanza,' from Vito Teti, frames staying as an active, generative choice. Recent resident Uwe Jäntsch created a fresco of roses in the bell tower of the Chiesa dell'Immacolata in Rodello, a donation to the community. Resté documents processes through publications and an archive, aiming to build long-term relationships. Future plans include the 'Habitar' project for the Countless Cities biennial.
