Queer History Month Activities Across Dutch Museums in March

During March, the sixth Queer History Month is being organized across the Netherlands by IHLIA, an LGBTQ+ heritage organization, in collaboration with various museums and cultural institutions. The program includes exhibitions, guided tours, and lectures exploring gender and sexual diversity throughout history. Highlights include an audio tour at the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden focusing on ancient queer artifacts, Catherine Opie's photographic exhibition at the Groninger Museum, a tribute to designer Peter Rozemeijer at the Zaans Museum, queer-themed tours at Museum W, and weekly discussions at the Frans Hals Museum featuring works by contemporary artists like Chris Rijk. These events aim to showcase the long history of queer perspectives and promote dialogue through art.
