Quattro Gatti Gin Launches as Official Partner of Venice Biennale 2026

Quattro Gatti, a family-led gin brand, was introduced in the United States at Clemente Bar in New York in late 2023. The spirit, which had been available in Europe and Australia since 2022, is produced in Umbria, Italy, using regional botanicals including juniper, olive leaf, artichoke, lemon, and thyme. The company was founded by the Mordant family—Simon, Catriona, Angus, and Brielle—who divide their time between New York and Umbria. Their backgrounds in arts patronage, photojournalism, and visual production inform the brand's ethos, which emphasizes gathering, storytelling, and cultural engagement. Quattro Gatti has been named the official gin partner of the International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia for 2026, reflecting the family's long-standing involvement with the event. Simon Mordant has served twice as Australia's Commissioner for the Biennale and played a key role in rebuilding the Australian Pavilion. The family's art collection, focused on contemporary works, includes large-scale sculptures in Italy and paintings and moving image pieces in Australia. The gin's development began in 2021 after Simon and Angus took a distilling course in England, leading to experiments with Umbrian botanicals. The brand aims to integrate into artistic and hospitality settings, with future plans involving collaborations with cultural institutions and limited-edition projects.
