Puuc Archaeological Museum opens at Kabah in Yucatán

In Yucatán, Mexico, a new museum focused on Maya archaeology, history, and contemporary culture has been inaugurated at the Kabah Archaeological Zone. The Puuc Archaeological Museum features more than 250 artifacts and highlights discoveries from 20 years of research in the Puuc area. This initiative, developed by Mexico’s Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), had a budget of around 227 million pesos. This funding was allocated for the museum's construction and the establishment of a new visitor services facility. Situated close to significant ancient Maya sites like Uxmal, Sayil, Labná, and Xlapak, the museum seeks to enhance visitors' understanding of the societies that influenced the Puuc region.
