Prado launches Women Creators of the Prado series with volume on Christina of Sweden

The Museo Nacional del Prado has introduced a new publication series named Women Creators of the Prado, which honors the contributions of women to its collections. This initiative is part of the museum’s broader project, "The Prado in Feminine." The first volume centers on Christina of Sweden, an influential figure in Baroque Europe, marking the 400th anniversary of her birth. It emphasizes her influence on the development of the Prado's classical sculpture collection. Led by art historian Noelia García Pérez and Carlos G. Navarro, the curator for 19th-century painting, the series aims to encompass fifteen volumes, each exploring a woman's impact through her work, patronage, or collecting.
