Peter Kennard's previously unpublished visual book STOP, first created in 1968 during the Vietnam War era, has been released for the first time. The work marks a significant shift in the British political artist's career as he moved from painting to photomontage. Using cut and reassembled press imagery, the book presents war as a systematic, recurring phenomenon rather than documenting specific events. Published by MuseumsEtc, an independent publisher based in Edinburgh, the release coincides with renewed global attention to armed conflict. Kennard, a longtime Professor of Political Art at the Royal College of Art, considers this his most comprehensive artistic statement.
