Nottingham's New Art Exchange becomes first community-led cultural institution

New Art Exchange in Nottingham has transferred permanent leadership to a citizens' assembly, making it the first cultural institution globally to adopt this governance model. The gallery is now managed by 40 residents from the Hyson Green area, who previously had limited engagement with the venue. This initiative aims to increase community involvement in cultural decision-making and broaden access to contemporary art.
