Noite dos Museus launches educational project for students in Porto Alegre

A decade after its founding, the Noite dos Museus initiative in Brazil has launched a free educational program targeting public schools in Porto Alegre and its metropolitan region. The project will select 30 classes to participate in cultural and formative activities throughout September, aiming to connect students with art, memory, and historical heritage. Applications are open until July 17 via the official website. The program is divided into two axes: in Porto Alegre, 20 classes will take guided visits to museums and cultural spaces that are part of Noite dos Museus; in municipalities such as Canoas, Gravataí, Novo Hamburgo, and São Leopoldo, 10 classes will host artists and cultural agents in their schools for workshops on visual arts, literature, music, theater, dance, photography, communication, and history. The initiative reinforces the role of museums, educators, and artists as agents of social transformation, fostering critical thinking, aesthetic sensitivity, and dialogue between schools and contemporary cultural production. By anticipating its tenth anniversary, Noite dos Museus reaffirms its commitment to democratizing access to culture and forming new audiences.
