New book compiles 1920s Paris letters by American expatriate artist Louise Heron Blair

A new book titled 'Much Love from Paris: Letters to My Family (1928–30)' compiles letters written by American artist Louise Heron Blair (1905–1972) to her family in Virginia during her time in Paris. Blair moved to Paris in 1927 to study art and married Spanish artist Pierre Daura (1896–1976) in 1928, becoming part of the Parisian avant-garde. The letters recount her artistic process, the city's cultural vibrancy, culinary exploits, and her love for Paris and Pierre. The volume includes photographs, drawings, newspaper clippings, and other materials, offering a vivid portrait of late 1920s Paris from the perspective of an American expatriate, aspiring painter, and newlywed. Blair was part of the 'Lost Generation' of writers and artists living abroad in interwar Paris.
