Milano cerca sponsor per restauro di Vittorio Emanuele e Casello Daziario
The Municipality of Milan is seeking private sponsors to fund the restoration of two significant landmarks: the equestrian statue of Vittorio Emanuele II in Piazza Duomo and the East Customs House at Porta Venezia. Marco Mazzei, the city’s public space assessor, emphasized the need for substantial investments and external contributions to safeguard the monuments. The restoration of the Vittorio Emanuele statue is expected to take around 12 months and features conservation work along with a pigeon control system, projected to generate over €1 million in return. The East Customs House, a notable example of Liberty architecture, will require 18 months and is anticipated to yield about €744,000.
