Marni Collaborates with Historic Milan Cafe for Design Week Pop-Up

During Milan Design Week 2026, the Italian fashion label Marni is launching a temporary installation at Pasticceria Cucchi, a historic cafe in Milan. The pop-up, named Marni x Cucchi, will operate from April 20 to July 15, 2026, open daily from 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM. This initiative is a partnership with RedDuo Studio, an interior design firm based in Milan, and marks the first Design Week project under Marni's current creative director, Meryll Rogge. The cafe, originally established in 1936 by Luigi and Vittorina Cucchi, was known for attracting artists and socialites with jazz performances. Now managed by the Monti family, heirs to gastronomic figure Giacomo Bulleri, it will be revitalized as a social hub. The takeover emphasizes the cafe's role as a venue for daily rituals, featuring co-branded items like sugar packets, coffee cups, plates, and staff uniforms, all adorned with bold, midcentury-inspired patterns. A special aperitivo focus includes a 'Spritz Menu' curated by Martini, and live music events on Thursday evenings will reference the cafe's past as a caffé-concerto. Rogge's involvement highlights her intent to strengthen ties between fashion and design, as seen in her debut Marni collection earlier in 2026, which featured a set by design agency Formafantasma. The event aims to celebrate Milanese culture and foster community engagement.
