Markus Lüpertz designs stained glass window for Naumburg Cathedral

Markus Lüpertz, a prominent figure of the Neue Wilde movement, has created a stained glass window for Naumburg Cathedral in Germany. The window explores themes of damnation and salvation, featuring motifs such as angels, skulls, and Satan. This is not the first time Lüpertz has designed church windows; he previously contributed to the Cologne Cathedral. The work adds a contemporary artistic voice to the medieval cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its Gothic architecture and the famous statues of the founders Ekkehard and Uta.
