Louis Vuitton Unveils Japanese-Inspired Pocket Watch with Animated Mt. Fuji Scene
Louis Vuitton has introduced a new luxury timepiece called the Escale au Mont Fuji as part of its Escales Autour du Monde collection. The pocket watch features a detailed depiction of Japan's Mount Fuji with a 50mm white gold case. Its dial showcases the mountain's snow-capped peak against a sky rendered in 33 colors through over 300 hours of enamel work. The scene includes engraved cherry blossoms, water with reflections, and a boat piloted by the folklore figure Ebisu carrying LV trunks. The watch incorporates a Jacquemart automaton system that animates four elements: a spinning compass, opening trunks, moving ship, and swaying branches, synchronized with the timekeeping mechanism. The bezel is set with 60 baguette-cut sapphires totaling 3.74 carats, complementing the dial's pastel hues.
