Lost Paco Rabal Film 'La otra mujer' Found in France After Decades

Historian Pedro Francisco Sánchez from Murcia has discovered in France a copy of 'La otra mujer' (1964), one of the last films from Paco Rabal's most international period, which had been missing in Spain for decades. The film, shot in Madrid, Carboneras (Almería), and Águilas (Murcia), Rabal's birthplace, was a Spanish-French co-production directed by François Villiers and based on the novel 'Soy la otra mujer' by Luisa María Linares. No copies existed in Spain, nor was it listed in registries or archives. The recovery coincides with the centenary of Rabal's birth. The film was shot in French. Sánchez explained the discovery to EFE, noting that the film's trace had disappeared in Spain. The find is significant for Spanish cinema heritage, as it recovers a work from the actor's international career.
