Laura Ramos publishes 'Mi niñera de la KGB' on KGB spy África de las Heras

Laura Ramos (Buenos Aires, 1956) has published 'Mi niñera de la KGB' (Lumen, 2026), an 'antibiography' of África de las Heras, a Spanish Republican who was recruited by the KGB during the Spanish Civil War and later operated as a spy in Mexico. Ramos knew de las Heras as María Luisa de la Heras, the woman who cared for her as a child and bought her pastries after school. Only years after de las Heras's death in the Soviet Union did the truth emerge. The book traces the life of this agent who infiltrated Mexican society under a false identity.
