cultural-heritage · 2026-03-31

The fountain season at La Granja has commenced with scheduled illumination displays throughout spring and summer. The first lighting event on April 2 features the Canastillo, Ranas, Baños de Diana, and Fama fountains. A second grouping including Canastillo, Ocho Calles, Ranas, and Fama begins on April 8. Special dates when all fountains will operate include May 30 (San Fernando), July 25 (Santiago Apóstol), and August 25 (San Luis). During July and August Saturdays, the Baños de Diana fountain will have nighttime operation. A major restoration project is underway for the 18th century Cascade Nueva fountain, funded by 6 million euros from European sources. This rehabilitation aims to return the historical fountain to its former glory through structural consolidation, waterproofing, marble restoration, sculptural group conservation, and hydraulic system repairs. Admission prices are set at 5 euros for daytime fountain displays and 3 euros for the nighttime Baños de Diana shows. Tickets are available at the box office from 10:00 to 18:00 hours or through the Patrimonio Nacional website. August 25 offers free entry in honor of San Luis.
