Kilomètre Zéro: New Cultural Hub on Port de Montebello at Notre-Dame

A new cultural destination called Kilomètre Zéro launches on the Port de Montebello in Paris's 5th arrondissement, between Pont de l'Archevêché and Pont au Double, at the foot of Notre-Dame de Paris. The initiative unites four permanent venues—Le Son de la Terre, La Nouvelle Seine, Nanna, and Le Bateau Ivre—offering live music, theatre, literary events, and gastronomy. Batobus joins as a partner via its Notre-Dame station. A free inaugural evening on Thursday, September 10, from 6 PM, co-organized with My Little Paris, will feature music, fanfare, theatre, burlesque, literature, and poetry. Visitors can reserve a free cultural passport at kilometre-zero.fr, a collector's item stamped at each venue, entitling them to a drink on each boat from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. The name references the historic Point Zéro, a brass medallion on the parvis of Notre-Dame, restored on July 1, 2025, after being removed following the April 2019 fire. Historically, the site was the medieval Échelle de Justice where condemned prisoners performed public penance; Louis XV designated it the zero point of French roads in 1769.
