Juana Dolores translates award-winning poetry collection 'Bisutería' into Spanish

Six years after winning the 2020 Premi Amadeu Oller for her debut poetry collection 'Bijutería' in Catalan, Juana Dolores has self-translated the work into Spanish as 'Bisutería', published in a bilingual edition by La Uña Rota. The Catalan writer, actress, playwright, stage director and video artist describes the poems as retaining their relevance in critiquing capitalism, womanhood, violence and desire. Dolores admits she developed a dislike for the collection and doubted herself over time, but now feels proud and satisfied with the translation. She states: 'Machismo is a symptom of the disease of capitalism.'
