Jacopo Marieschi's ceiling painting restored in Venice

Jacopo Marieschi's 18th-century ceiling painting, "Saint John Adoring the Relic of the True Cross," has undergone its first complete restoration. Created around 1760, the artwork is housed in the Church of San Giovanni Evangelista in Venice. The restoration, supported by Arnold M. Bernstein, allows for the painting to be temporarily showcased in the Atrium of Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista until the end of November 2026. After this display, the artwork will be reinstated to its original position on the church ceiling, preserving its historical significance for future generations.
