Italy’s MiC Allocates €50 Million for Public Cultural Heritage
The 2026 edition of Cultura Missione Comune, promoted by the Istituto per il Credito Sportivo e Culturale (ICSC) with support from the Italian Ministry of Culture, has launched with a €50 million fund for local authorities. The initiative targets protection, recovery, enhancement, and digitalization of tangible and intangible cultural assets. Municipalities, provinces, metropolitan cities, and regions can access fixed-rate mortgages with full interest reduction for up to ten years, funded by the Fondo per la Cultura. The call remains open until September 30 and aims to activate over €130 million in investments. Between 2021 and 2025, the program already supported over €300 million in interventions, generating estimated social benefits exceeding €1 billion. The Ministry of Culture frames the project as a strategic tool to strengthen cultural heritage as a driver of development, assisting local administrations in valorizing territorial cultural and identity resources.
