Intagrist El Ansari: Tuareg storyteller's film and books on exile and heritage

Intagrist El Ansari, a Tuareg writer and filmmaker from the Kel Ansar tribe, presents his work exploring Tuareg history, exile, and cultural survival. His film 'Ressacs, une histoire touareg' will screen at multiple venues in France from June to September 2026, including Ciné 32 in Auch (June 18–22), Cinéma l'Utopie in Sainte Livrade (June 24, with El Ansari, Fadimata Disco of Tartit, and journalist Philippe Baqué), and Cinéma de Luteva Lodève (July 31, with El Ansari and Tuareg musicians). El Ansari, who grew up under a tent in the desert, was a young victim of the conflict between Tuareg groups and the Malian state in the 1990s. He writes in Tamasheq and French, producing books such as 'Écho Saharien, l'inconsolable nostalgie', 'Touaregs, l'exil pour patrie', and 'Voix In, voix off'. The programming includes music by Tartit and Frédéric Chopin.
