HBO Announces Release Date and Cast for Upcoming Harry Potter Television Adaptation

HBO has revealed that its new Harry Potter television series will premiere on HBO Max on Christmas Day. The show, written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner with Mark Mylod directing multiple episodes, is described as a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling's book series. The production features a new cast including Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. Notable supporting actors include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape. The series aims to introduce the franchise to younger audiences while composer Hans Zimmer and his collective Bleeding Fingers Music will create the score.
