Hans Memling's 'Last Judgment' Altarpiece in Gdańsk Examines Enduring Religious Art

A recent visit to Poland highlights the continued vitality of religious imagery, particularly through Hans Memling's 15th-century triptych 'The Last Judgment' at the National Museum in Gdańsk. Painted around 1465, the work was originally intended for a church near Florence but was captured at sea by privateer Paul Benecke and brought to Gdańsk.
