Guillermo Núñez Works Loaned to Chilean Presidential Palace by Museo de Arte Contemporáneo
Three paintings by Chilean artist Guillermo Núñez have been installed in the Salón Protocolar of Santiago's Palacio de La Moneda through a loan agreement facilitated by the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) of the Universidad de Chile, starting August 2024. On October 15, MAC director Daniel Cruz, Faculty of Arts Dean Fernando Carrasco, and Núñez's widow Soledad Bianchi visited the palace, meeting Antonia Illanes and conservation specialists José Manuel Guerrero and Rodrigo Pino. The displayed works include "Sin título" (1989) and two versions of "Un silencio de multitudes" (1978, 1984). Núñez, who directed MAC in 1971 and won Chile's National Prize for Plastic Arts in 2007, created these pieces during exile in France. Funding came from FMIM (2024).
