Guillaume Bouzard Publishes Humorous Behind-the-Scenes Comic on Lucky Luke Series Adaptation

French cartoonist Guillaume Bouzard has released a graphic novel titled 'L’Homme qui a vu l’homme qui filme l’homme qui tire plus vite que son ombre,' offering a comedic and unconventional making-of account of the new Lucky Luke television series adaptation. Published by Dargaud, the 17.50-euro album presents a first-person narrative that subverts traditional behind-the-scenes reporting. Bouzard, known for his humor comics, was commissioned by Dargaud to document the series' filming in Spain. Instead of a linear documentary approach, he created a personalized, exaggerated story featuring a fictionalized version of himself as a grumpy cartoonist convinced he is the world's best. The work includes elements like AI-generated pages and humorous interactions with animals from the set. Bouzard previously authored a Lucky Luke tribute album in 2017. In 2026, he received the Prix Schlingo at the Angoulême Off festival for 'Les Vacances chez Pépé-Mémé,' another of his works. The Lucky Luke series, starring Alban Lenoir, premiered on Disney+ on March 23 and will later air on France Télévisions. It consists of eight live-action episodes featuring characters like the Dalton gang, with an original storyline not based on Morris and Goscinny's albums.
