Glasstire's Texas Topographies Series Highlights Influential Artists and Cultural Workers

As part of its 25th anniversary celebration in 2026, Glasstire is commissioning photographers to document over 80 significant Texas artists, arts professionals, and collectors. The second installment connects to the 'Texas Topographies: Examining Place & Practice' theme, featuring established figures who have shaped their regional art scenes. Profiles include curator Kimberly Davenport, who led Rice University Art Gallery from 1994 to 2017; artist Joseph Havel, former director of the Glassell School of Art; and collaborative artist Jack Massing, now executive director of the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art. Other featured individuals include Fort Worth artists Sedrick and Letitia Huckaby, who opened Kinfolk House; curator Vicki Meek, former manager of the South Dallas Cultural Center; and San Antonio artist Jenelle Esparza, co-founder of Presa House Gallery. The series also highlights gallery owners, educators, and community advocates from across the state, illustrating the diverse contributions to Texas' cultural landscape.
