French Television Network TF1 Ends Long-Running Football Program 'Téléfoot' After Nearly Five Decades

TF1, the French private television channel, has announced the cancellation of its football magazine program 'Téléfoot'. The final episode will air on June 14. Launched in 1977 by Pierre Cangioni, the show became a staple of French sports broadcasting, originally airing Saturday evenings before moving to Sunday mornings. Notable hosts have included Michel Denisot, Thierry Roland, Thierry Gilardi, and since 2018, Grégoire Margotton with former World Cup winner Bixente Lizarazu. According to reports from L'Equipe confirmed by TF1, the program will be replaced by a multi-sport show starting in September.
