Expedition Documents WWII Aircraft Wreckage in Tibet's Himalayan Region

A joint China-US expedition team investigated the crash site of a World War II American transport plane in the Nyingchi region of Xizang (Tibet). The project involved local resident Sonam, who participated in the 2002 mission and received recognition for his contributions. Photographer Li Hao documented the site near Langgong village, where the wreckage remains in mountainous terrain. The effort aims to preserve historical memory of wartime cooperation and sacrifice during the conflict that began with Japan's invasion of China in 1937.
