European Archaeology Days Offer Public Excavation Visits and Workshops Across Spain

This week in Spain, the Ministry of Culture is hosting the European Archaeology Days, an event that has been celebrated since 2019. Among the highlights is the 'Open for Excavation' program at ongoing archaeological sites, with new contributions from Patrimonio Nacional and the Galería de las Colecciones Reales. On June 13, visitors can explore the Castro de Coaña site, which will include astronomical observations of ancient solar cycles. An online conference organized by the Instituto de Patrimonio Cultural de España is scheduled for June 11-12. Various state museums are participating, with the Museo Arqueológico Nacional (MAN) in Madrid offering special visits starting June 9, a 'Paleofiction' conference on June 10, and additional workshops. Other institutions, like Museo de América and Museo del Greco, will also provide workshops and guided tours, all requiring prior registration.
