EU Experts Assess Druzhba Pipeline to Address Hungary's Obstruction of Ukraine Assistance

European Union specialists have traveled to Ukraine to evaluate the Druzhba oil pipeline's state, as announced by Naftogaz, Ukraine's state energy company. This inspection follows the pipeline's shutdown in January, which sparked a dispute with Hungary, hindering an EU loan to Ukraine. The EU recently suggested dispatching a team for this purpose, and Ukraine has agreed to accept technical aid and financial support from the EU to repair the pipeline and resume oil shipments. Hungary and Slovakia have experienced disruptions in Russian oil supplies due to the pipeline issue.
