Conservation Conference in Northern England Focuses on Storage Solutions for Museum Collections

The Conservation Matters in the North conference was held at the National Science and Media Museum, bringing together over 100 conservation professionals. The event focused on storage challenges, featuring presentations from specialists including Ann French, Kathryn Kreczak, Vanessa Torres, Joanne Fulton, Isabelle Morse, Yu-Hsin Chang, and Julie McBain. Topics ranged from textile storage improvements and frozen preservation for film to large object protection and ceramic collection reorganization. The conference also included poster presentations from Cesar Cerejo, Rebecca Ellis, Sarah Bird, Sian Blake, and Pagan Boydell, showcasing practical conservation projects. The event was organized by the North West Conservators Group and the hosting museum.
