Colosseum Night Tours Return for 2026 with Guided Visits

The Parco archeologico del Colosseo is bringing back its special evening openings, offering guided tours under the stars starting July 14, 2026. The program, titled "Una Notte al Colosseo," allows visitors to explore the iconic Roman monument in a unique atmosphere away from daytime crowds. Led by specialized staff, the limited-entry tours delve into the history, architecture, and stories of the Colosseum through itineraries designed for nighttime. According to Director Simone Quilici, the initiative combines conservation, research, and accessibility. Tours run every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM (last entry at 9:50 PM), lasting about 60 minutes. The route begins at the North fornix (the ancient emperor's entrance) and proceeds through the first order, the arena floor offering a full view of the cavea, and the underground chambers, where the permanent exhibition "Spettacoli nell'Arena del Colosseo. I protagonisti" is housed. The itinerary provides insights into ancient spectacles like venationes (animal hunts) and gladiatorial munera. Tickets go on sale seven days before each visit, priced at €50 full (€24 Full Experience + €26 guided tour) and €28 reduced (€2 Full Experience + €26 guided tour). The ticket is valid the following day for the Roman Forum and Palatine archaeological area and SUPER sites. Holders of free admission or Membership Cards pay only the €26 guided tour fee.
