China unveils first national standard for AI agent identity management

China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has introduced the country's first national standard for AI agent connectivity, titled "Artificial Intelligence Agent Interconnection." The framework, reported by state broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV), aims to create a unified identity management system for all AI agents, establishing a "closed-loop system" to regulate their interactions. This move supports Beijing's broader strategy to boost enterprise adoption of AI agents while ensuring security as these technologies expand into real-world applications. By standardizing components, the framework allows businesses to reduce development costs and shorten product launch cycles. The guideline focuses on secure cross-domain interaction, addressing the need for institutional foundations as AI agents proliferate across industries.
