China Approves Archaeological Park at Marquis of Haihun Tomb Site

Chinese officials have authorized the creation of a national archaeological park at the Marquis of Haihun burial site in Jiangxi province. The Western Han Dynasty tomb, discovered near Nanchang, will be preserved in its original state beside Poyang Lake. Excavation work started in 2011, revealing the remains of Liu He and over 10,000 artifacts. The State Administration of Cultural Heritage reviewed the proposal earlier this year, leading to approval for the 12.46 square kilometer park. This undisturbed imperial tomb represents a significant historical find that will now be protected and presented to the public.
