Château d'Ormesson opens to public for first extended summer season
From July 27 to September 4, 2026, the Château d'Ormesson in Val-de-Marne will welcome visitors for the first time. This historic site, designated a monument in 1889, is under private ownership by the Société civile du domaine d'Ormesson, led by Laure and Charles Peugeot. Usually, it can only be visited during European Heritage Days or by appointment. Since March 2024, the château has been closed until July due to the filming of "Le meilleur pâtissier." Guests can access the ground floor, gardens, and family chapel. Originally constructed for Louis Picot in the late 16th century, it has been a gathering place for notable figures such as Madame de Sévigné and Denis Diderot. Admission costs €10 (€13 for guided tours), with discounts available.
