CCCB Barcelona Offers Monographic Course on Rilke's Sonnets to Orpheus in 2026

The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) will present a specialized course on Rainer Maria Rilke's Sonetos a Orfeo (Sonnets to Orpheus) in 2026, marking the centenary of the poet's death. Andreu Jaume, an editor and critic specializing in Rilke, will lead participants through the poetic cycle, which emerged from his work on the Elegías de Duino (Duino Elegies). The course will explore themes including existential reversal, the myth of Orpheus, and concepts of change and permanence. Sessions are scheduled for April 9, 16, 30, May 7, 21, and 28, 2026, each starting at 18:30 hours. Registration is available through the CCCB website, with a general fee of 75 euros and discounted rates of 60 euros for students, unemployed individuals, pensioners, those over 65, and Friends of the CCCB. The program will be conducted both in-person and online, focusing on the enduring relevance and clarity of Rilke's final major work.
