Cal State LA acquires Manuel Gomez Cruz Artwork Collection
California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) has recently added The Manuel Gomez Cruz Artwork Collection to its Special Collections and Archives in the University Library. This new acquisition enhances the East LA Archives and honors the contributions of a groundbreaking Chicano artist integral to the Chicano Art Movement in East Los Angeles. Visitors can view the collection in the Reading Room of the Special Collections and Archives, situated in Room 2079 of the Palmer Wing at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Library on campus. Azalea Camacho, the head of Special Collections and Archives, remarked on the collection's significance, highlighting its role in documenting the artist's impactful work within the movement.
