British Museum launches nationwide Bayeux Tapestry education programme
The British Museum has launched 'Bayeux Around Britain, supported by WorldQuant', a national educational programme designed to make the Bayeux Tapestry more accessible to schoolchildren across the UK. The initiative involves a network of over 60 partner organisations, including museums, galleries, libraries, archives, cathedrals, and heritage sites, ensuring that tapestry-related activities are within an hour's drive for two-thirds of the country. A digital experience will be available to all schoolchildren nationwide. The programme accompanies the loan of the Bayeux Tapestry, presented by Igor Tulchinsky, and aims to engage communities beyond London, turning the historic loan into a national moment.
