Berserk's Posthumous Continuation: Studio Gaga Carries on Miura's Vision

Since 2022, a small team of artists from Studio Gaga, led by Kouji Mori, has been continuing Kentaro Miura's legendary manga "Berserk" following his sudden death in 2021 at age 54. The team works under immense pressure to faithfully execute Miura's unwritten ending, which he confided to Mori before his death. They strictly adhere to his narrative plans and graphic style, with Yoshimitsu Kurosaki, a longtime Studio Gaga artist, handling the detailed illustrations. The 384th chapter was released on June 12, 2026, revealing crucial backstory about protagonist Gatsu. The series began on August 25, 1989, when Miura was 23, and has since become one of the most influential fantasy manga, inspiring works like "Dark Souls" and "Elden Ring." Publication has been irregular since 2006 due to Miura's perfectionism, with chapters appearing after months-long waits. The new chapters are published in Young Animal magazine by Hakusensha. Mori and his team face high expectations from fans worldwide, but their work has been largely praised. The next two chapters are scheduled for June 26 and July 10, 2026, an unusually close release. In Italy, Panini Comics publishes collected volumes, the latest covering up to chapter 374.
