BBC's The Repair Shop Cancels Segment Featuring Bob Monkhouse Joke Book Over Content Concerns

The BBC television program The Repair Shop canceled a planned segment that would have featured a joke book belonging to the late comedian Bob Monkhouse. The show's producers determined the material contained inappropriate content after examining the book at their workshop. Monkhouse's daughter and his comedy writing partner had brought the item to the program. Production company Ricochet returned the book to the family without filming the restoration. Monkhouse, who died in 2003, was a prominent British television personality for decades and bequeathed his joke collection to his writing partner Colin Edmonds.
