BBC Radio 2 Seeks New Breakfast Host Following Scott Mills' Departure

BBC Radio 2 is searching for a new presenter for its morning program after Scott Mills left the position. Mills had been hosting the popular show for approximately one year before his exit. The role is considered prestigious within British broadcasting, with previous hosts including Zoe Ball, Chris Evans, and Terry Wogan, who held it for over 27 years across two periods. Several potential candidates have emerged for the vacancy. Vernon Kay currently presents the station's mid-morning program, which attracts 6.7 million listeners, but he only began that role in May 2023. Sara Cox has extensive experience, having previously hosted Radio 1's breakfast show and serving as a substitute presenter for Radio 2 since 2012.
