BBC and BritBox Adapt 'The Other Bennet Sister' with Ella Bruccoleri as Mary Bennet

In the upcoming series 'The Other Bennet Sister' on BBC and BritBox, Ella Bruccoleri takes on the role of Mary Bennet. This adaptation of Janice Hadlow's 2020 book spans 10 episodes and was partly shot in the Brecon Beacons, which double for Windermere and Scafell Pike in Cumbria. Directed by Asim Abbasi and written by Sarah Quintrell, the story focuses on Mary's journey through life after marriage, where she meets suitors Mr. Ryder, played by Laurie Davidson, and Mr. Hayward, portrayed by Dónal Finn, along with her aunt and uncle, Indira Varma and Richard Coyle. Costume designer Siân Jenkins illustrates Mary's growth with a shift from muted colors to bright greens and reds. The series premieres on May 6, 2026, on BritBox in the US and Canada, staying true to the Georgian period.
