Australian War Artists Document Afghan Military Post in 2007 Commission

Australian artists Lyndell Brown and Charles Green were commissioned as Official War Artists by the Australian War Memorial in 2007. They traveled to Afghanistan with the Australian Defence Force to document military operations. During their assignment, they photographed an Afghan National Army perimeter post at Taran Kowt Base in Uruzgan Province. The resulting inkjet print, measuring 155 x 107.5 cm, was acquired by the Victorian Foundation for Living Australian Artists in 2009. This work forms part of their ongoing collaborative practice examining war, memory, and global narratives through photography and mixed media.
