Anna Ferrer's New Album PA Transforms Family Baking Heritage into Experimental Folk Music

Menorcan singer Anna Ferrer is releasing her fourth album, PA, through La Castanya, transforming her family's four-generation bakery tradition into experimental folk music. The album serves as a sonic homage to her childhood in the bakery workshop, with instruments like Spanish guitar representing baking tools. Ferrer has previously released acclaimed albums including Parenòstic (2024), which received a 7.6 Pitchfork rating and was named Best Folk Album of 2024 by Enderrock. She has performed live shows at venues including Fira Mediterrània de Manresa and L'Auditori de Barcelona, often featuring her baker father on stage. The single 'Los panes los hijos' has an accompanying music video exploring themes of lineage, and Ferrer has upcoming performances scheduled in Spain, Portugal, and France throughout 2026.
