Alserkal Avenue Announces Blank Space Initiative for UAE Creative Collectives

Alserkal Avenue has introduced a new program called Blank Space aimed at supporting emerging creative groups in the United Arab Emirates. The initiative targets multidisciplinary practitioners in fields such as visual arts, music, design, and craft who need workspace and resources to develop collaborative projects. Selected participants—up to three collectives—will gain access to a warehouse facility for four weeks. This space can be used for production, rehearsals, or exhibitions, with utilities covered and possible material assistance provided. The program seeks to address common obstacles like the expense of securing dedicated work areas. Blank Space also emphasizes community engagement, requiring each project to include a public component such as a showcase, interactive workshop, or live event.
